C3 gets some ink on CrunchGear

As mentioned in my previous post, CrunchGear, an offshoot of TechCrunch, did a quick overview of Cambridge Innovation Center and the Cambridge Coworking Center (C3) this weekend. They got some nice photos. Check it out!

C3 moves into a new, larger space on the 9th floor at One Broadway

C3 has been up and running for about 9 months now, and it was time to grow it. Our old space on the 10th floor at One Broadway was, well, pretty old. In fact, it was slated for demolition. The situation reminded me of poor Arthur Dent and his house in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Rather than stand in the way of the bulldozers, we searched around and came up with another option, which, like the old C3 space, is within Cambridge Innovation Center. The new space is substantially larger–it feels about double the size–and according to an unscientific poll of C3ers, its much nicer. One thing it has retained is the great views over the Charles River. We’re not big on advertising/promoting ourselves. We prefer that people in C3 itself, to the extent that they value C3, do that through their own networks. So I’m sorry to say we don’t even have any photos yet. However we were fortunate that Doug Aamoth from CrunchGear (part of TechCrunch) dropped in the other day, and wrote a great piece about CIC and C3, including some nice photos. Hi, from one of the intial C3er’s, Jeff Feldgoise. Ogee, my company, is developing online finance apps both for ourselves and for others. My background is a combination of design (MIT architecture), computer graphics programming, and consumer online finance. At the core, I enjoy creating online software that’s centered on the consumer experience.

I really like being here at C3, especially as the place has now started to fill up. It’s great having other people around for sharing ideas. So far so good!

Great to be at C3! I’m here exploring a few opportunities in imaging-enabled software and services. I am co-founder and former CEO of two MA-based ventures: Aegis Lightwave (optical communications) and RedShift Systems (thermal imaging). Before that I worked on software for machine vision and large-scale logistics. Originally from New Jersey, I was pulled to Cambridge twice for school — Harvard undergrad and MIT grad — and decided to stay for good.

Angel investor Bill Warner moves into C3

As reported by Scott Kirsner on his blog in this post, well known Boston-area angel investor Bill Warner has moved into C3! A founder of Avid Technology and Wildfire, Bill Warner is known for mentoring many startups over the years.

C3 will host MIT $100K Business Plan Competition and MIT Energy Prize Winners
