About Cambridge Innovation Center
C3 is one of the newest ideas to come out of CIC, and together the two comprise over 450 companies in a wide range of industries. Of CIC’s 150,000 square feet of great office space at One Broadway, Cambridge, MA, much of it is dedicated to coworking, and you can find C3ers throughout the center as they rub shoulders with other entrepreneurs.
Cambridge Innovation Center lets you focus on making your business successful. The Center provides “instant on” facilities, enterprise-class services, and month-to-month service, at rates that are more cost-effective and flexible for small companies than a traditional lease. CIC offers our clients a range of environments from large, shared co-working areas to private, secured offices, all with access to extensive shared amenities, including fully stocked kitchens, conference rooms, copiers and printers, shower rooms, massage therapy, bike-share program, etc. Our goal is to let our clients focus on their innovations while we focus on making the office space work for them. Our clients are from a wide variety of industries, including technology and life sciences companies, professional service firms, and venture capitalists.
CIC has attracted some of the best-known startups in the Boston area, including half of the Google team that built the Android smart-phone operating system, HubSpot, the inbound marketing specialists, Design that Matters, which was awarded Time Magazine’s Best Invention of 2010, and many other great businesses. Since 2001, CIC client companies have raised over $1.7B in venture capital.
Neighboring the MIT campus and steps away from the Red Line in Kendall Square, Cambridge Innovation Center is the world's largest flexible office facility for growing companies. CIC provides over 450 small companies with award-winning facilities and state-of-the-art business and technical services. CIC was founded in 1999, with a simple concept about how great, innovative businesses are built. Over the years, the CIC team has refined their knowledge of what growing companies need, and our services have evolved to a level of quality and cost-efficiency that enables CIC to attract the best-known and best-funded new companies looking to do business in the MIT/Harvard innovation cluster. Today, CIC is a full-fledged managed-office services firm with over 150,000 square feet of office space. CIC offers a wide range of space configurations and price points to meet client needs.
CIC has a vested interest in the financial strength of the entrepreneurs at CIC. There are numerous venture capital firms located at CIC that may seek to work with CIC clients. Two CIC managers, Tim Rowe and Geoff Mamlet, have part-time direct involvement with the DFJ New England Fund and New Atlantic Ventures, both located within Cambridge Innovation Center. These are early stage venture capital funds that actively seek technology investment opportunities in the New England area, including among the clients and prospective clients of CIC. Other than the personal involvement of Tim and Geoff, these funds are unaffiliated with CIC.
